Our Technical Collaboration Partner, ELRICH® Bituminous Systems is a leading bitumen solutions company based in the Middle East. ELRICH® specialises in the development of value-added bitumen products and processes at their world-class manufacturing facilities with in-house R&D and QCQA systems. 

ELRICH® has a well-equipped Research and Development Centre for the development of processes and products suitable for asphalt pavements at Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. ELRICH® has a technical tie-up with the world-renowned institution, Modified Asphalt Research Centre at University of Wisconsin Madison USA, a centre of excellence engaged in innovations in new bituminous binders and asphalt applications technologies. 

ELRICH® is a well-established brand in the Middle East and Africa region for new generation bituminous binders produced using novel hybrid technologies. Over the last 10 years, ELRICH®  modified bitumen (ELRICH® PMB) and high-performance emulsions and cutbacks have been used in almost all segments of infrastructure: airports, highways, urban infrastructure corridors, ports, sports, and events facilities. 

ELRICH® Binders have been successfully applied in a variety of extreme weather conditions ranging from high ambient temperatures exceeding 50°C prevailing in arid desert environments to hot, humid, and rainy climates in tropical and coastal Africa as well as in the hilly terrains in cold climatic regions. 

The Modified Asphalt Research Center, (MARC) at the University of Wisconsin (UW) Madison is an international center of excellence at the forefront of fundamental and applied research in areas of superior paving technologies, modified binders, and asphalt mixtures. 

ELRICH BITUMINOUS SYSTEMS have a strong technical partnership program with MARC over the last 10 years providing high-end support for manufacturing, QC and application of Elrich® binders in the asphalt mixtures. The partnership has grown stronger over the years. Some of the milestones achieved as a result of collaborative works are as follows:

• Demonstrated Balanced Mix Design to cover resistance to rutting, fatigue and moisture damage coupled with workability

• Dealing with chronic rutting failures on UAE roads

• Achieved Geographical Spread of Elrich® PMB to various countries, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Tanzania, Sri Lanka and now to India

• Elrich® Speciality Emulsion as advanced tack coat material in UAE
